Slick, smooth and silky performance by Pasadena Roof Orchestra
Pasadena Roof Orchestra, The Apex, Bury St Edmunds, Friday, June 23.
Slick, smooth and silky and looking every bit the part the PRO delighted a near full house with an eclectic selection of numbers from their incredible repertoire.
Recreating the sounds of the golden era of music from the 1920s and 1930s they performed songs from Irving Berlin, Ray Noble, Cole Porter and Duke Ellington to name but a few.
The incredibly talented and accomplished musicians of the 10-piece orchestra with their vocalist and bandleader, the suave Duncan Galloway, produced a two-hour programme of more than 20-plus songs and featured all members of the band in a pure champagne evening.
They included classics “Anything Goes”, “Roses of Picardy”, “Alexandra’s Rag Time Band”, “Fascinating Rhythm”, the comical “Egyptian Ella” and “Yes, We Have No Bananas”, “Lullaby of Broadway”, “Putting On The Ritz”, the timeless “Tiger Rag” and their signature tune “Home in Pasadena”.
