Tributes to pop, folk and Latin-rock artists on stage at The Apex
The next few weeks sees a plethora of tribute shows at The Apex.
Voted into the Top 5 must-see tribute bands by Classic Rock Magazine, Viva Santana bring their superb interpretation of Carlos Santana’s Latino rock-blues to The Apex, on Saturday, July 22.
The seven-piece band features Spanish guitar wizard Marcos Rodriguez on electric and acoustic guitar, two incredible percussionists and a full line up to match Carlos’ Abraxas days.
Expect classy guitar licks over danceable percussion, as the band roll their way through ‘Samba Pati’, ‘Changes’, ‘Soul Sacrifice’, ‘Oye Como Va’, ‘Black Magic Woman’ and other highlights from Santana’s 30 year career.
The Bob Dylan Story is the new, definitive tribute to a songwriting genius. Enhanced by a top backing band and visual imagery from his 1960s heyday, the show lovingly and authentically recreates the many songs that made Bob Dylan the living legend he is today.
The heady idealism of ‘Blowing In The Wind’ and ‘The Times They Are A Changin’; the electric venom of ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’; the mysticism of ‘All Along The Watchtower’; the lyrical tour de force of ‘Hurricane’ and the catchy simplicity of ‘Knocking On Heaven’s Door’ – these and many more memorable songs, along with some of the stories behind them, are captured to perfection on Friday, July 28.
Whitney – Queen of the Night is a stunning celebration of the music and life of the most highly awarded female artiste in the world ever.
