Elmswell residents urged to attend planning meeting over new homes in the village
Residents in Elmswell are being encouraged to attend a Mid Suffolk District Council planning meeting, next week.
The Wetherden Road and Warren Lane applications, which between them total 83 new homes, will be determined at the Development Control Committee meeting on Wednesday, July 12, starting at 9.30am.
The committee papers can be found at http://baberghmidsuffolk.moderngov.co.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=147&MId=1002&Ver=4
Whilst Thurston are granted to a single planning application hearing and a opportunity to affect the village in terms of effective proportionality, the villagers of Elmswell remain having to defend itself against multiple developers on a case by case basis, claim campaigners in the village.
Thurston are threatened with up to 827 new dwellings whilst Elmswell are threatened with up to 950.
The district plan targets to build 8,300 dwellings by 2021.
