Harvesting well underway in Mid Suffolk

Harvesting comes early due to dry summer promising a bumper crop for farmers pre-Brexit.

A combine was seen working one of the fields around Elmswell some two or three weeks earlier than previous years.

A spokesman for the farming community said: “We are making the most of the dry weather to maximise our yields and gather the crop.”

He continued:”It’s perfect weather for the combine to get out in the fields and we are hoping to make the most of it while the weather continues to stay dry.”
