Family pays tribute to man who was victim of murder in Bury St Edmunds

The family of a man who was the victim of a murder in Bury St Edmunds have paid tribute to him.

Geoffrey Caton, aged 57, of Cumberland Avenue, Bury St Edmunds, was found deceased at his home on Thursday, July 20.

The family have asked police to issue the following statement and photograph of Geoffrey on their behalf: 

“The family are still trying to come to terms with the events of last week. Therefore, at this stage we would ask that you respect the privacy of the whole family.

“They would, however, wish to thank the friends and neighbours who tried to come to Geoffrey’s aid and also the Emergency Services for their efforts.

“We can’t thank you enough for all you did.”
