Opposition mounts over plans for petrol station and drive through takeaway at Elmswell
Opposition is mounting over plans to create a petrol station and drive through takeaway next to the A14 at Elmswell.
The Sustainable Elmswell group is behind the campaign to prevent the plans going ahead and has advised protestors to make their feelings known to Mid Suffolk District Council.
They claim that both junctions on the A14 off to Elmswell and Woolpit would have to be used twice opening up the possibility of accidents.
“The younger element may find the thought of a fast food restaurant very inviting but think of the rubbish which will end up on the edge of our village.
“The garages at Woolpit, Norton and Tot Hill will be affected and to get cheaper petrol it would be easier to go to Sainsbury’s or Tesco in Bury St Edmunds.”
