Pantomime Young Chorus auditions announced
The Theatre Royal, in Bury St Edmunds, is casting the Young Chorus for its annual pantomime, Dick Whittington.
Young performers aged between nine and 18 are being sought out to work as part of this traditional style family pantomime, a professional in-house production which runs for six weeks between Friday, December 1 and Sunday, January 14.
You will need to be hard working, a strong dancer, singer and actor as well as being prepared to attend all rehearsals if offered a place in the company. With a rehearsal period from Sunday, November 5 to Thursday, November 30, leading right up to the performances, it will be a full-on schedule.
The Young Chorus will get to work with director Karen Simpson, choreographer Julia Cave and musical director Ward Baker.
Registrations opened this week and the auditions will take place on Sunday, September 24, from 10am to 6pm, at the theatre in Westgate Street.

Those auditioning will need to bring dance shoes (plus tap shoes if you are a confident tap dancer) and dance-wear or comfortable clothing for the audition day. All performers will dance, sing and act as part of the process so be prepared for a high energy day and bring plenty of food and water.
