Comedian Rob Rouse at the Theatre Royal, in Bury St Edmunds
Bringing his trademark comedic storytelling to a career high in this full length show, Are You Sitting Comfortably, which is being staged at the Theatre Royal, in Bury St Edmunds, later this month.
Rob Rouse will take you on an irresistibly hilarious journey of enforced introspection that has taught him to relinquish any attempts to control his life and to face down literally one of the most awkward situations you’re ever likely to hear about (Fri 29 Sep).
He’s married, has two kids, a dog and an eye-watering mortgage, (is in debt) in these times of austerity and uncertainty, but remains resolute that a career in the unpredictable world of comedy was absolutely the right way to go. (It’s far too late to try something else now).
Most definitely a middle-aged bloke, Rob happily holds his hands up as being about as ‘un-sexy’ as it’s possible to be in terms of broad brush ‘Key Marketing Demographics’ but as a stand-up he is in the form of his life.
Rob stars as ‘Bottom’ (Shakespeare’s manservant) in Upstart Crow, BBC show written by Ben Elton. He has also appeared in 8 Out of 10 Cats, Dave’s One Night Stand, The Friday Night Project, Spoons, Celebrity Juice and Live at the Comedy Store.
Are You Sitting Comfortably is at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds for one night on Friday, September 29, at 8pm, tickets are now on sale, contact the box office 01284 769505 or www.theatreroyal.org
