An evening of music with Clare Presland at the Theatre Royal, in Bury St Edmunds
There’s a one-off opportunity to spend an evening of music with Clare Presland, mezzo soprano, and her pianist, along with readings by the actors John Shrapnel and Dame Janet Suzman DBE, at the Theatre Royal, in Bury St Edmunds.
Clare Presland was born in Bury St Edmunds and trained on English National Opera’s Opera Works and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She made her professional debut in 2012 as Palestinian Woman (The Death of Klinghoffer) for ENO and has since returned regularly to ENO. She made her Royal Opera House debut in 2014 in the world premiere of Glare by Søren Nils Eichberg and she returned earlier this year for the world premiere of 4.48 Psychosis by Philip Venables.
Clare, winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Chilcott Award in 2014, takes a break from her busy operatic career to return to Bury St Edmunds for an evening to perform her favourite arias along with some readings by two of our most celebrated actors.
This is a fundraising event on Sunday, October 1, for Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds (Registered Charity Number 242977) and tickets are also available to join a private post-show reception with the performers.
