Elmswell couple planning a charity Christmas Day lunch
An Elmswell couple are planning to organise a Christmas Day lunch for those who find the festive season not so easy.
It could be couples, people alone, people who find it overwhelming being with family, the elderly, and Sue Hood and her son Tom are welcoming ideas.
They are looking to stage the event in Wesley or the Blackbourne Community Centre and would aim to have fun after the dinner with board games and a sing song.
There would be a small donation for those attending and the couple are hoping to get local businesses on board for donations of food.
The idea has already got support from people using the nextdoor.co.uk website with Rita Lenko, from Norton, saying: “Such a kind and thoughtful idea.
“I am not in need, but I know there will be people who would be so grateful. Please let me know if I can contribute, anything … material or financial to support you and your son in such a kind and thoughtful endeavour.”
If you want to support the idea and know of anyone who would like to attend contact Sue via her email address at hood888@btinternet.com
