Woman in her 20s dies after her vehicle collides with a tree at Elveden

A woman has died following a serious road traffic collision in Elveden.

Police were called at 12.10am this morning, Friday, November 24, to reports of a single vehicle collision on the B1106.

A blue Honda Civic collided with a tree approximately a mile north of the Centre Parcs entrance.

Ambulance and fire crews were also in attendance, but the driver – a woman aged in her 20s who is a member of the United States Air Force 48th Fighter Wing , based at RAF Lakenheath – died at the scene.

The road was closed whilst a collision investigation took place and reopened at around 8am.

Any witnesses are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting reference CAD 4 of 24 November.  

The identity of the woman will not be released until 24 hours after next of kin notifications have been made.
