Duo charged with hare coursing in Great Ashfield

Two men arrested on suspicion of hare coursing in the Great Ashfield area have now been charged.
Officers were called at 10.30am, on Sunday, November 5, to reports of men with dogs and a vehicle in fields near Great Ashfield. Police attended and after a search of the area stopped a vehicle in Wetherden containing two men and dogs. The vehicle, a blue Peugeot 407 estate, and two dogs were seized under the Hunting Act.
William Johnston, aged 38, of Northampton Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, has been charged with hunting a wild mammal with a dog. Anthony Webster, aged 37, of Holywell Row, near Mildenhall has been charged with aiding and abetting the hunting of a wild mammal with a dog.
Both men have been bailed to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on January 8.
