The curtain rises for Dick Whittington at the Theatre Royal

After three weeks of rehearsals it is finally time for us to raise the curtain on this year’s pantomime, Dick Whittington.

The family adventure sees our hero travel all the way from Boring St Yawning, in Suffolk, via rat-infested London Town to Love Island aboard the Good Ship Leaking Lizzie, with plenty of sing-along songs and surprises along the way.

The dress rehearsal was attended by an invited audience of Theatre Royal’s patrons and sponsors, as well as a good portion of the team of volunteers and stewards who help keep the theatre running.

So if you haven’t already got your hands on tickets, bagsy your berth on board the Leaking Lizzie and join the crew for the ride of a lifetime as Dick Whittington sets sail to find his fortune and save London Town from the rats.

The premiere was attended by schools and the laughter was echoing throughout the theatre, now the show will run up to Christmas and beyond, right through to Sunday, January 14.

For a festive treat join us for the extra special Gala Performance, Sunday, December 10, at 2pm, with games and other goodies, perhaps even a visit from Santa. There will also be a BSL interpreted performance Wednesday, December 13, at 2pm, and a Relaxed Performance Friday, January 12, at 1.30pm.
