Two people suffered serious injuries in a crash in Great Ashfield last night.
Police, paramedics and fire crews rushed to Elmswell Road, just before 8pm, to reports of a crash involving one car.
Three fire engines were dispatched to help from Bury St Edmunds, Ixworth and Elmswell.
Firefighters freed the driver and passenger from their vehicle.
In an update this morning, a police spokesman said: “The driver broke his leg and had chest injuries and the passenger broke their collarbone and arm. Their injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing but still serious. They were both taken to hospital and we were able to open the road by about 9.20pm.”
The pair were taken to West Suffolk Hospital for treatment.
