40-year-old assaulted with a metal pole by gang

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault that took place in Bury St Edmunds.

It happened on Friday, December 22, at about 6.45pm, in a park area near to Hodson Close.

The victim, a male in his mid 40s, was assaulted by a group of young males with a metal pole.

One of the suspects is described as white, with blond hair, aged in his late teens and was about 5ft 4ins tall.

The victim sustained a cut to the face and bruises to his face. He was taken to hospital for a check-up as precaution.
