Shake a tail feather down to The Apex for the Chicago Blues Brothers
Back in 1978, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd (AKA Joliet Jake Blues and Elwood J Blues) unleashed The Blues Brothers on the American public via the NBC show ‘Saturday Night Live’, before going on to release two hit films and numerous albums.
Europe’s biggest Blues Brothers production, the Chicago Blues Brothers show is a high-octane, musical mash-up with the best material from the original Blues Brothers movies.
Complete with trademark Pork Pie hats and sunglasses, the legendary Brothers are on a new mission. Armed with a new stage set, new moves, and freshly laundered jailsuits, Jake & Elwood are back at The Apex on Thursday, January 18, to take you back to 1980 to finish the concert at the Palace Hotel ballroom in a two-hour song-fest, with over 40 hits performed live on stage.
Featuring a nine-piece live band, the Chicago Blues Brothers show is packed with over two hours of the very best blues, Motown and soul music, along with some side-splitting comedy thrown in for good measure!
The show features hits from both of the Blues Brothers movies including ‘Everybody Needs Somebody’, ‘Raw Hide’, and ‘Sweet Home Chicago’, and unforgettable classics from James Brown, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Otis Reading, Cab ‘Minnie the Moocher’ Calloway and many more.
The Chicago Blues Brothers is a joyous hoot, a musical riot, a juiced-up jamboree of the coolest, funkiest soul, blues and Motown hits, performed with style, class and showmanship. Infectious, exuberant and spirited, the legacy of Jake and Elwood has been jump-started for a new generation with an energy that’s impossible to resist.
