14-year-old girl accosted by man in Stowmarket as she carried out her paper round

Police are appealing for witnesses to an accosting incident that took place in Stowmarket.

A 14 year old teenage girl was carrying out her paper round this morning (Friday, January 5) at about 7am when, as she entered Ipswich Street, she noticed a male sat on his bike.

As she passed him she noticed him following her on his bike. She said he followed her quite closely.

He is described as white, middle aged, with brown short hair and was of skinny build and was wearing jeans and a hooded top. His bicycle had a blue flashing light on.

The teenage girl then cycled to her friend’s house on Temple Road at which point the suspect cycled off. The girl was unhurt in the incident.
