Celebrity hairdresser gives students at the West Suffolk College a masterclass

Celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford came to West Suffolk College to  give a masterclass  and share his passion for his industry with students.

Lee is a household name, previous winner of Men’s British Hairdresser of the Year, well known in the industry and on television.

He demonstrated a current styling technique and gave trainee hairdressers an insight into how he kicked off his career and the hurdles he had to face to become successful.

The students, who were apprentices as well as those full time with work placements, listened to his experiences and asked many questions. He said it was important to work hard and learn their skills from good people. He also asked them lots of questions.

Lee said much had changed during his 36-year career, but he still loved it. Passionate about training he said the industry had to adapt and change for the new millennials who didn’t want to learn in the traditional way.

Level 3 student Suzanne Gilberg found his session “inspirational”. She said they got so much out of his Masterclass as he treated them as equals.

Marnie Randall, hairdressing subject leader, said;” Lee made our students feel valued and respected – they loved the session. It ‘s always good to learn from the best “.
