Award winning singer and entertainer Robert Habermann comes to the Theatre Royal
Following on from his sell-out concert in The Elgar Room at The Royal Albert Hall, award winning singer and entertainer Robert Habermann comes to Theatre Royal, in Bury St Edmunds, with the fabulous show More Stars Than in the Heavens – The Story of the MGM Musical, on Friday, February 16.
From MGM Studios’ humble beginnings at the beginning of the ‘talkies’ in 1929 to their unique celebration in the 1974 compilation film That’s Entertainment, Robert Habermann takes the audience on an incredible journey in words and music. More Stars Than in the Heavens contains over forty of MGM’s iconic songs, including ‘Over The Rainbow’, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’, ‘Show Business’ and many more.
Robert also tells stories of the stars who appeared in the films; Judy Garland (Wizard of Oz), Gene Kelly (Singing in the Rain), Fred Astaire (Easter Parade) and many more known to lovers of the MGM film musical.
Discovered by legendary American singer Margaret Whiting, Robert Habermann was voted Best International Performer 1994 by the prestigious Manhattan Association of Cabarets of New York. Robert’s unique shows are ‘story book’ shows where he not only sings the songs but tells the story together with lots of anecdotes – having met many of the leading songwriters and performers of this amazing period.
