New quartet featuring singer Jacqui Dankworth on stage at the Apex
Butterfly’s Wing is a new quartet featuring Grammy-Award-winning singer Jacqui Dankworth, who play a panoply of seductive rhythms, with cutting-edge improvisation and lyrics and they are appearing at The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, in March.
Their ine-up includes award-winning composer and jazz pianist David Gordon, Mercury Prize-nominated cellist Ben Davis and Christian Garrick, widely recognised as the country’s leading jazz violinist.
Known primarily as a jazz singer, Jacqui’s unique musical palette also draws on folk, soul, classical, blues, and numerous other influences.
She is also an accomplished actor, having performed leading parts with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, and in London’s West End. Jacqui has performed and recorded with the likes of Courtney Pine, Paloma Faith, Clare Teale, Georgie Fame, Charlie Wood, Gregory Porter and The London Symphony Orchestra.
