‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ on stage at the Theatre Royal, next month
Ballet Theatre UK return to the Theatre Royal, in Bury St Edmunds, with a spectacular journey into the enchanting and magical realm of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, on Thursday and Friday, March 1 and 2.
William Shakespeare’s famous comedy portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta, the former queen of the Amazons. These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of amateur actors who are all controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest where most of the play is set.
Following their critically acclaimed productions of Romeo and Juliet and The Nutcracker, Ballet Theatre UK present a new ballet set to charm the whole family.
Through the vision of artistic director Christopher Moore, this innovative production gives the old story new wings. With stunning original choreography set to the iconic Mendelssohn score and breath-taking costumes, the magical woodland of old will come to mischievous life on stage.
