Tomorrow the Classic Car Club of Bury St Edmunds is on the market in the town centre to meet potential new members and to raise money for the Batten Disease Family Association.
On display there will be a classic cars – weather depending, a 1957 Lotus 11 and the club will be offering people the opportunity of having their photograph taken at the wheel of the car in return for a £5 donation to the charity.
It will also be offering them the opportunity of a 30-minute ride in one of the members cars – to be taken at an agreed future date – in return for a £20 donation to the charity.
The club is open to anyone with an interest in classic cars. It typically holds two meetings per month: at lunchtime on the first Sunday of the month and in the evening of the third Thursday based at the town’s Farmers Club.
