Plans to build 250 homes in Elmswell have been withdrawn

There is encouraging news for concerned Elmswell residents today as they have been notified that plans to build 250 new homes in Elmswell have be withdrawn.

An outline planning application for permission to build 250 homes on land at School Road, Elmswell has now been withdrawn according to an email to concerned residents in the village from Philip Isbell, Corporate Manager of Growth & Sustainability Planning at Babergh & Mid Suffolk District Council and will no longer be determined by the Council, comments on this application are no longer required.

One local resident said, “This is great news, the village infrastructure is struggling with current levels of traffic and we really believed that it would not be able to cope with another 250 homes”.

The application was withdrawn on April 25th 2018 it was originally applied for in July 2017 and was subject to many objections from local residents. There are 98 documents available on the Councils website with reference to the application.
