Abbeycroft Leisure and Forest Heath District Council have come to the aid of a Brandon pre school in need of a new home.
Fledgelings Pre School, currently based in the Scout Hut, need to find new premises for their 30 toddlers after being given notice to leave their current premises.
Emma Slaughter, Fledgelings Pre School Chairperson, said: “Finding somewhere to move to quickly is really important. The question was would it have survived another closure – even a temporary one.
“We provide high quality early years education and care and lots of local families rely on us to give their child the best start in their education and also so that parents can go out to work. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported us in this transition. I am so grateful to Forest Heath District Council and to Abbeycroft Leisure who have so quickly found us a new home while we work on a longer term solution.”
Councillor Andy Drummond, Forest Heath Cabinet member for Leisure and Culture, said: “Resilient families and communities are one of Forest Heath’s priorities so we were very pleased to be able to work with partner Abbeycroft and Fledgelings to come up with this temporary solution, which provides continuity of day care and breathing space to find a permanent solution.”
And Warren Smyth, Chief Executive of Abbeycroft Leisure, added: “Abbeycroft are pleased to be able to provide a short term solution to accommodate Fledgelings Pre School. We will work with the pre-school, staff and customers to ensure that they get a warm welcome and continue to access this important child care service for the town.”
