A team of business savvy fundraisers have got off to a flying start as they battle to raise as much as possible for a local hospice.
Knights Lowe, who have signed up to take part in St Nicholas Hospice Care’s Accumulator Challenge, have been quick off the mark and made an early start by raising £690 for the charity.
Having encouraged their colleagues and clients to get involved the chartered accountants held a karting event at Red Lodge.
Taking place over two nights the event saw 23 teams battle it out for the top spots, with SG Machining Solutions Ltd and Knights Lowe eventually named the winners.
Neil Sandry, Knights Lowe client services director and event organiser, said: “Knights Lowe have been holding fundraising karting events for many years and are so pleased to be giving the money this year to St Nicholas Hospice Care. We would like to thank Red lodge karting for putting on such a fantastic event and all the teams for taking part, every pound raised allows St Nicholas Hospice Care to continue their work in the local community.”
Since the first Accumulator Challenge in 2010, the businesses taking part have raised thousands for the hospice, with last year’s challengers raising £23,176.39.
At the start of the challenge, each business is handed a £50 note and tasked with turning it into as much money for the hospice as possible.
Business who would like to take part in the challenge have until June 28 to sign up.
All of the firms taking part will compete to win the top fundraiser prize, with other accolades also presented at a special awards night in October.
