The Bratislava Hot Serenaders are sure to captivate audiences with their exciting hot jazz and dance music, combined with period dressing and genuine style and they are at The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, next month.
This internationally acclaimed orchestra, complete with the Serenaders Sisters, play vintage swing and dance music from the 1920s and 30s by the likes of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and Jack Hylton. The musicians and singers, ranked amongst the world’s best, play with dazzling panache and amazing authenticity.
Following major festival and concert appearances in Europe, the Serenaders will tour the UK, calling in at The Apex on July 15.
Led by trumpeter Juraj Bartoš, the 21-piece ensemble features brass, reeds, strings, rhythm section, two male singers and the Serenaders Sisters vocal trio.
Their playing adheres to the sound, style, and feel of the orchestras of Paul Whiteman, Carroll Gibbons and Duke Ellington, in addition to featuring Czech, Slovak, and other European classic jazz tunes of the period
The band’s enthusiastic musicians were brought together in 1991 by their love of the ‘Hot Jazz’ or ‘Sweet Dance Music’ that arrived in Europe at the end of the 1920s.
