St Nicholas Hospice Care is on the hunt for fundraisers willing to stretch their vocal chords and help raise vital funds as part of an event that’s all about the singing.
In a bid to make sure festive spirit is spread far and wide this year, the hospice has decided to organise a brand new event Carolling All the Way and is on the lookout for those who love a sing-song to lend their voices.
The event, which will see fundraisers, encouraged to dress up in period or Steampunk themed costumes, will take place over the weekend of December 14 and 16.
Singers, who can also don their best Christmas jumpers, will be encouraged to go carolling door-to-door in their local areas and, if they would like to, can organise community events such as fairs and fetes to add to their fundraising festivities
Alison Bacon-Snow, the hospice’s lottery manager and event organiser, said: “I want this to be a really fun event that everyone feels they can be part of.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re already part of a choir or just someone looking to have some fun fundraising at Christmas, this will be a friendly event packed with community spirit for everyone and it will be all about getting into the festive spirit while raising funds.”
No audition is necessary and people can sign up as groups (of any size) as well as individuals.
There will be a special launch event, which will be a great chance for groups to meet and all singers will be able to pick up their songbooks, LED candle and specially designed participation pin, as well as items for fundraising over the weekend.
Those who want to sign up will need to do so before Friday, December 7.
It costs £10 to take part and fancy dress is optional. Groups will be encouraged to sell raffle tickets throughout the weekend and many fabulous prizes will be up for grabs.
To sign up email Alison.Bacon-Snow@stnh.org.uk or application forms will be available from hospice shops and online at www.stnicholashospice.org.uk.
