Businesses will be put to the test during new challenge in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care

Businesses who have accepted an unknown mission will be battling it out to raise funds for a local charity as they spend a day outside of the office for a good cause.

Mission: Improbable, a new challenge event organised by St Nicholas Hospice Care, will see teams from a variety of local businesses have a very different day at the office as they accept a fundraising mission with a difference.

Sponsored by Ashtons Legal, the challenge, which will take place on Friday, October 19, will see teams of four put their business minds and teamwork to the test to raise funds for the charity, which supports those across west Suffolk and Thetford in the final chapters of their lives.

With 11 teams signing up for the challenge, the competition is set to be fierce as Greene King, Lark Technology, Martin & Co, RSM Accountants, Chassis Cab, the Farmers Club, Ashtons Legal, Menta, Hugh J Boswell, St Edmundsbury Financial Services and Gracewell of Kentford battle it out to be named the winners.

Abby Mayes, the hospice’s corporate fundraising manager, said: “We are all looking forward to the first Mission: Improbable challenge in aid of the hospice. This is a new event for us and I am so pleased so many teams have pledged to support us.

“We have a competitive bunch and I really don’t think anyone is going to want to settle for second place.

“Those taking part won’t know what they are facing ahead of the event, but they have been encouraged to prepare for the day by thinking along the lines of a treasure hunt meets Crystal Maze style challenge.”

Armed with a mobile phone, each team will have just six hours to navigate their way around Bury St Edmunds to complete a bespoke mission by undertaking a series of unknown challenges.

Each team will need to employ all of their stealth, problem-solving skills, wit and good humour as they race against the clock to earn points and beat the competition.

Teams have been asked to raise a minimum of £1,000 for the hospice. You can support their efforts here: www.stnicholashospice.org.uk/fundraising-events/mission-improbable-meet-the-teams/
