300 NEW HOMES PROPOSAL UNDER DISCUSSION
There is a Public Meeting to be held tonight 7.30pm at Woolpit Church Tuesday 16th October 2018 to discuss the proposal for development of 300 homes in the village.
Woolpit resident, Emma Yeldham, is calling for villagers to attend the meeting to oppose the development The application DC/18/04247 is an Outline Planning Application for the erection of up to 300 dwellings, construction of a new spine road, land for a new primary school, burial ground extension, village car park and associated infrastructure. The dwellings are proposed on land Off Bury Road, The Street Woolpit IP30 9SA
Emma commented on social media “This application will change our village as we know it. The proposal of retail buildings could mean we lose our village centre, and the school they propose to build would be in the last phase after all the houses have been built. So when all the families have moved in and had to find schooling outside of the village because our existing school doesn’t have the space, our community will be split”.
