GOLF SUFFOLK: Suffolk Golf Captains’ triumphant in Devon

The Suffolk Golf Captains team won the Saunton Salver 2018 played on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th October 2018 at Saunton Golf Club, Devon.

Each year Golf Club Captains from across the UK gather for an inter-county competition at Saunton Golf Club in Devon. This year there were 144 players representing Derbyshire, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Oxfordshire, South Wales, Staffordshire, Suffolk, Surrey, Wiltshire and Worcestershire

The competition playing for the Saunton Slaver is a team event of 12 players a-side staged over three days, first day practice with the main event played on the second and third day.

The Suffolk team were victorious over the two days accumulating 345 stableford points and winning by 1 point from Devon and Derbyshire.


1st        Suffolk         345 points

2nd        Devon        344 points on countback

3rd        Derbyshire  344 points
