New Post Office plans revealed to replace mobile service

The Post Office is proposing to replace the mobile Post Office serving Lavenham with a new service at the former Tourist Information Centre, 2 Lady Street, Lavenham.

The former Tourist Information Centre has been taken over by the Parish Council, which will be turning the centre into a community hub/Information centre and has requested the Post Office move into this new location.

It would be a hosted outreach service provided by the Long Melford postmaster at set times each week – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 11am to 2pm. This would be the same number of hours as currently provided by the Post Office mobile service, but at different times.

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a public consultation and is looking for feedback about accessibility, local community issues and anything that it can do to make life easier for customers.

The consultation will close on January 22. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 713130. Submissions can also be made via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, by post to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, or by telephone 03452 66 01 15 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
