The creation of a new £66,000 play area for Ingham is set to swing into place as councils and councillors have come together to help fund it.
Ingham Parish Council, who is leading on the initiative, has been fundraising for the new park and equipment.
Local St Edmundsbury Borough councillor Susan Glossop has put £1,000 of her locality funding towards the scheme which she has also campaigned for.
Some £40,000 is also coming forward as part of section 106 funding, which is given by developments as part of planning agreements. Campaigners have held various events to help raise funds for the new area and the play equipment for the village.
She said: “The campaign has been inspirational and I am glad I could help. The section 106 money means that funding from development is going back into the community for these much needed facilities.
“I have been working with the parish council for the last four years and been impressed by the local community spirit to work at fundraising for the scheme. I am glad I could put some of my locality budget towards this great scheme and can’t wait to see the area being turned into a play area and being used.”
