Now in its 22nd year, World Book Day is a celebration of reading and aims to encourage children and young adults to come together to explore the pleasure of books.

Stephanie Redgate, Headteacher at Pathfinder C of E Primary School, said: “Reading is such an important life skill and something that we encourage all of our pupils to do more of. Having new books to get stuck into helps to keep up an enthusiasm for reading and we would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their kind donation.”

Ben Hemmings, headteacher at Chilton Community Primary School, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey on behalf of everyone at our school. Books are a great way to fire up a child’s imagination and to teach them about the world around them. We can’t wait to add to our library and share new stories with each other.”

Caroline Carter, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, said: “Books are a fantastic way to feed children’s imaginations. We were delighted to donate book vouchers to eight schools across the region to help them to celebrate World Book Day, and hope that the new books will be enjoyed for years to come.”
