Woolpit to take on an England Masters select side in the summer

Some of the biggest names in the cricketing world including Alex Tudor, Mark Ramprakash, Matthew Hoggard, Simon Jones, Geraint Jones and Ali Brown could all be lining up for a charity cricket match at Woolpit later this year.

For Woolpit Cricket Club are set to take on the PCA England Masters in a T20 game on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26, at 2pm.

Money raised from the event will go towards improvements to the pavilion, the acquisition of further coaching kit and to the extension of the main square for junior and practice strips.

But there is lots more to the day than the match for there are a series of events lined up.

They include:

10.30am to 1.30pm, Junior Softball Tournament U7’s, U9’s and U11’s (maximum of 24 players per age group).

10.30am to 1.30pm, Coached Junior Nets 11+ (maximum of 18 Players per one hour net slot at 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm).

Noon to 1pm, PCA Player Q&A session.

Other activities include a range hit challenge, draw, pizza van, coffee van, ice cream van and the Greene King trailer of ales

Those members who want to play should complete the Player Form, which can be obtained on the website at https://mailchi.mp/93e6ce08ef11/exciting-information-about-wcc-this-coming-season and return it to Karl Holmes at playersrep@woolpitcc.org, by April 30.

This then gives you a couple of months to complete one of the options below to raise £100 for your place by either donating £100 or donating £50 and selling 10 match day tickets.

Entry to the ground is £25 for a VIP Bubbly Afternoon Tea and Match, £5 for an Early Bird Standard Ticket and £7 for a Standard Ticket bought on the day.
