Family pay tribute to man killed in traffic collision on A14

Police today (Monday, August 12) named a man who sadly died in a road traffic collision on the A14 at Woolpit as his family pay tribute to him.

Officers were called at just after 5am on Saturday, August 10, to reports of a collision on the A14 westbound at Woolpit involving a pedestrian and a number of vehicles.

Pending formal coroner’s inquest proceedings the deceased has been identified as George Collins  aged 38, from Bury St Edmunds

The family issued the following tribute: “Our beloved son, George, died on the A14, in the morning of 10 August. After many troubled years, suffering from mental illness, he is now peaceful, at last. We should like to express our thanks to the emergency services for all they did and our sorrow for the trauma caused to anyone who became involved.”
