Teenager charged with attempted murder of woman in Needham Market

A 16-year-old boy is due to appear before magistrates in Ipswich today (Tuesday, October 20) charged with the attempted murder of a woman in Needham Market.

It comes after police were called at 6.10am on Saturday, October 19, to Quinton Road where a 30-year-old female was found stabbed.

The teenager was arrested on Sunday, October 20, in the London area on suspicion of attempted murder.

He was charged last night (Monday, October 21) with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article. He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

A man, aged in his 50s, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Saturday evening was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He was released on police bail on Sunday until November 14 pending further enquiries.

The victim has been transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, from West Suffolk Hospital and remains in a stable condition following an operation.
