SUFFOLK GOLF COURSE CLOSED FOR WINTER AS THE DRY WEATHER TAKES ITS TOLL

Family owned West Suffolk Golf Centre based in Beck Row is to close for the Winter following three excessively dry years which has taken its toll on the golf course. The Nixon family who own the centre have decided to close from Sunday November 3rd 2019 and will hopefully re-open for the new golfing season in Spring 2020.

The club offers great facilities for those who are new to golf. It has been around now for 26 years created by Roy & Ann Nixon and their son John who works on the course and his wife Emma who manages the club.  The club started on farmland with 3 holes moved to 6 and then 12 holes for a number of years before developing into a full 18 hole course in 2007. It also has a floodlit Driving Range which will also be closed whilst the course maintenance is underway.

Emma Nixon says, “We have taken the difficult decision to close all our facilities for the Winter and our last day will be this Sunday 3rd November 2019. We have had many problems with the course over the past three years with the weather being the major factor. We are hoping to re-open at some time next year when John has been able to work on the Golf Course and get it back in better condition”.

Suffolk Village Info will report as soon as we have a date that West Suffolk Golf Centre will re-open.
