Knife-wielding raider takes money from bookies in Bury St Edmunds
A knife-wielding attacker jumped over the counter of a Bury St Edmunds bookies shop and fled with a haul of cash on a bicycle.
The incident took place at the Coral bookmakers, at the Hardwick Shopping Centre, on Home Farm Lane, on Saturday (November 2) at about 5.10pm.
The raider made his escape, leaving with a quantity of cash, on a female’s purple and pink bike ridden toward Caie Walk that was found abandoned nearby. No-one was hurt or injured in the incident.
The suspect is described as a male, about 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing a balaclava.
Enquiries are on-going to locate the offender and anyone who has knowledge of the incident, saw any suspicious activity should contact Bury St Edmunds CID, quoting crime reference 37/66561/19.
