Sleigh load of events on offer at The Athenaeum

There’s a sleigh load of festive fun packages available to people to help them celebrate in the run up to Christmas at the Athenaeum, in Bury St Edmunds.

The venue, on Angel Hill, boasts a range of meeting rooms and event spaces that can accommodate up to 160 party-goers.

Built in the 18th Century, the Grade I listed venue was used as a space for communities to gather and have a good time – a spirit that is embraced by the experienced events team over the festive season.

There are a series of Christmas Glitterball Party events taking place where guests will be wowed by the historic venue’s magnificently transformed Georgian Ballroom, where they will be greeted by shimmering glitterball decorations.

Running on Thursday through to Saturday nights from December 5 party-goers will enjoy a three-course Christmas dinner, a festive cocktail as well as entertainment from the resident DJ and a photo booth.

It costs £41.50 per person and the Athenaeum is urging guests to book quickly as there are limited tables available.

The festivities continue into the New Year with bespoke packages available exclusively for groups of up to 160 throughout January and February.

There’s also the chance to treat a group to an exclusive Christmas party at £44.50 per person. The exclusive hire package comes with a festival drink on arrival, a three-course Christmas dinner using the finest seasonal ingredients, a DJ and a photo booth.
