Scottish Highland group to play The Apex

Hailing from the Highlands of Scotland and exploding onto the indie folk scene in 2017, Elephant Sessions have appeared at some of the world’s most notable venues and festivals, including blistering sets at Glastonbury, Byron Bay Bluesfestand multiple headline sell-outs at Celtic Connections and are due at The Apex next week.
Recent winners of the BBC MG Alba Album of the Year for “All We Have Is Now”, Elephant Sessions turn traditional music on its head with their exciting new soundand have already become renowned for their breathtaking live shows.
Creating a progressive blend of intricate mandolin and fiddle tunes engulfing guitars, electronic dance beats and a bass and drum heavy backline, their music combines the very best of trad, funk and electronica.
The band’s first two albums were released to much critical acclaim, earning them many fans across the world. 2018 saw awards in abundance. Opening the year as winners of Album of the Year at the BBC Scotland Trad Awards, they went on to be finalists as Best Group at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and shortlisted for Scottish Album of the Year. They closed 2018 by receiving the coveted Trad Awards’ Live Band of the Year.
