Denny Bros supports Gatehouse Christmas appeal

Kind-hearted staff at Denny Bros have backed a Christmas fundraising campaign aimed at supporting families and individuals who struggle financially.

The leading Bury St Edmunds-based print company has organised a collection of food items which will be donated to the town’s Gatehouse charity, which is expected to hand out around 500 food parcels in December.

Staff at Denny Bros began their appeal at the end of November and have been inundated with items.

Paula Armstrong, office support administrator who instigated the appeal, said: “I was driving to work when I heard an interview on the radio about foodbanks. I heard about a child who was delighted because he had received a tub of crisps in his hamper. It was such a simple thing and something we all take for granted, but it really made me think that I wanted to do something to help.

“Denny Bros were more than happy to run an appeal among staff and everyone has been so generous in their giving.”

Graham Denny, managing director, said: “Denny Bros prides itself on being part of the Bury St Edmunds community and we are delighted to be supporting such a well-respected local charity as Gatehouse.”

Denny Bros will run the appeal until Tuesday, December 10, before making the donation to Gatehouse.
