Tribute acts lined up to appear at The Apex

There’s a host of tribute bands coming to The Apex in the coming months.

From Marc Bolan to Madonna and Bob Marley to Roy Orbison it’s a chance to see and hear some of the top acts at the venue in Bury St Edmunds.

The world’s only official live tribute to Marc Bolan & T Rex – T.Rextasy will play on January 21. This is the only band endorsed by Marc Bolan’s family and ex-members of his band, indeed Bill Legend, the original T.Rex drummer, said: “They’re the closest you’re ever going to get to the real thing.”

Into The Groove’s tribute to Madonna on January 30 celebrates the incredible career of the best-selling female artist of all time. This colourful production features all of Madonna’s greatest hits, such as ‘Holiday’, ‘Like a Prayer’, ‘Papa Don’t Preach’ and ‘Music’.

The Marley Revival will recreate the music and vibe of the king of reggae music on February 7, when you can hear Bob Marley & The Wailers’ hits and classic album tracks, including ‘Three Little Birds’, ‘I Shot The Sheriff’, ‘Is This Love’ and ‘No Woman No Cry’.

The line-up of singers in Honky Tonk Angels on February 21 includes Hannah Johnson, who was awarded ‘Female Country Singer of the Year 2019’ at the UK Country Music Awards. The tributes to Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn, are backed by a five-piece band playing instruments such as pedal steel and double bass.

There’s just a handful of tickets left for The Roy Orbison Story on February 22, probably because Barry Steele is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading tributes to Roy Orbison.

For Those About to Rock on February 28 brings LIVE/WIRE’s AC/DC Show – a unique six-man tribute, complete with both Bon and Brian, a wall of Marshalls, cannons and over two hours of High Voltage rock ‘n’ roll. Also on the bill, Whitesnake UK will pay tribute to David Coverdale’s multi-platinum selling band, from the early Moody/Marsden line up to the present US incarnation.

New Purple Celebration, the artists formerly known as Purple Rain, will play The Music of Prince on March 14. This two-hour, hit-packed, funky show, includes ‘1999’, ‘Little Red Corvette’, ‘Purple Rain’, ‘Raspberry Beret’, ‘U Got The Look’ and many more.
