SUFFOLK GOLF CLUB & DRIVING RANGE TO CLOSE FOR GOOD

Family owned West Suffolk Golf Centre based in Beck Row has taken the sad decision to permanently close their Golf Course and Driving Range.
Emma Nixon wrote to us today,
“Just to let you know that after much deliberation over the winter months we have decided to permanently close the Golf Course and Driving Range. Not an easy decision for the family but one that we feel is best for us”
“Thank you so much for all your support over the years you really did help us grow”.
We published in October 2019 that the family had decided to close for the Winter following three excessively dry years which had taken its toll on the golf course. The Nixon family who own the centre decided to close from Sunday November 3rd 2019 and hoped to re-open for the new golfing season in Spring 2020. After all the hard work and investment the family had put in to the club it must have been a really hard decision to take.
The club had offered great facilities for those who were new to golf. It had been around for 26 years created by Roy & Ann Nixon and their son John who worked on the course and his wife Emma who managed the club. The club started on farmland with 3 holes moved to 6 and then 12 holes for a number of years before developing into a full 18- hole course in 2007. It also had a floodlit Driving Range which will also be closed.
We are sure that members and past visitors will be very sad to read the news that club will not be re-opening again.
Mid-Suffolk Croquet Club. Thurston, will restart when allowed. Give it a try ?
