The incident took place at the home of a woman in her 70’s on Nether Road in the village during the early hours of Thursday, April 16.

Three male offenders entered the property just after midnight. The woman occupant was asleep in her bedroom when she was awoken by a man holding his hands firmly over her mouth and demanding property, whilst the two other men searched the home. The suspects are described as being two white men, both approximately 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall, and a black man with, with dark eyes and very tall in height.

Officers attended the scene and made a search of the area but no suspects were located.

Suffolk detectives directed Metropolitan Police officers to an address in Ilford where today, Wednesday, April 22, a 42-year-old man was located and arrested in connection with the robbery. He has been brought to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where he will be questioned by officers.

Detectives investigating the robbery are appealing for motorists who were in the Cavendish between 10pm on Wednesday, April 15, and 1am on Thursday, April 16, to come forward if they have dash cam footage or if they saw anything suspicious.
