There have been four incidents of thefts from cars in Haverhill over the past five days.
In one incident a vehicle, a grey Ford Focus, was parked in the driveway on the High Street and entry was gained between 9pm on Friday, July 3, and 8am on Saturday, July 4. A purse and bag were removed.
Entry was also gained to a vehicle, a silver BMW, on a driveway on Helions Park Avenue sometime on Saturday, July 4, between 00.01am and 6am. A sports bag and phone accessories were removed.
Elsewhere, overnight between Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3, on Clements Lane, a silver Saab 93 vehicle was entered and a wallet containing bank cards and engagement ring was stolen from inside the glove-box of vehicle.
Finally, in the early hours of Friday, July 3, on Parr Road, another victim had had his car broken into, via a forced entry to the passenger side with the window being smashed. A wallet was taken and cards from the wallet were subsequently used fraudulently at a petrol station later the same morning.
Most thefts from cars are opportunist, so officers would remind motorists, where possible, not to leave valuables in the vehicles overnight and to always remove them from their vehicle.
