Thanks have been paid to neighbours and firefighters who fought a garage blaze in Thurston over the weekend.
It broke out just before 8pm, on Saturday, in Cloverfields, and the cause of the blaze is as yet unknown.
Lorrie Finley posted a message on the Nextdoor social media site thanking neighbours who came to support the family.
Three fire crews attended the incident with two from Bury St Edmunds and one from Ixworth.
Lorrie said: “We thank our neighbours who came out to support us and for tolerating the disruption caused by fire appliances and the awful smell not only of Stuart’s beloved car, but many years worth of tools and appliances.
“Thankfully our house was untouched and no one was hurt. Special thanks to Chris and Frank who kindly sheltered us. The fire crews were awesome – so professional and brave. Donation made to firefighters charity in gratitude.”
