Two arrested following fight in Haverhill

Two men have been arrested following an incident in which two people were injured in Haverhill.

Officers were called at around 8.40pm on Monday, August 10, following reports of a fight taking place in Elmdon Place in the town.

A 57-year-old man sustained a large cut to his head and other minor injuries. He was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, by ambulance.

Later that evening a 43-year-old man was arrested in Haverhill on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He was further arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order act, criminal damage and the production of class B drugs.

He has been bailed to return to police on September 1.

A 57-year-old man was arrested the next day, August 11, in Haverhill, on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation centre.
