Power workers help to enhance biodiversity at electricity substations

A group of power workers have been putting their company’s Green Action Plan into force at Suffolk’s electricity substations.

The environment team from UK Power Networks visited three sites in Debenham, Drinkwater and Honington to cut, rake and sow wildflower seeds.

The sites are among 100 UK locations selected for biodiversity enhancement that will attract more wildlife and improve habitat and conservation.

Staff who took part used the company’s Donate A Day scheme which gives the 6,200 employees two days paid leave each year to volunteer in their local communities.
