Outdoor gyms and skate parks to close during latest lockdown

All outdoor gyms and skate parks in England have been ordered to close following clarification on new national restrictions to suppress the spread of Covid-19, save lives and protect the NHS.

In West Suffolk this applies to outdoor gyms at Heldhaw Road Recreation Ground, Bury St Edmunds, and East Town Park, Motts Field, Haverhill.

And to skate parks at Olding Road, Bury St Edmunds; Howe Road Recreation Ground, Haverhill; St Johns Recreation Ground, Mildenhall; and George Lambton Playing Fields, Newmarket.

Skateboard England have sought guidance and argued the case for exemptions but recognise that while this is hugely disappointing news, everyone must pull together as a community and continue to follow the government guidance to keep ourselves and each other safe.

Signs are being put in place explaining the closures and outdoor gyms will be taped off.
