Clare Balding thrills those attending Suffolk Chamber of Commerce Prestige Dinner
Suffolk Chamber of Commerce’s first Prestige Dinner for nearly two years proved to be a great success as almost 200 guests were entertained to broadcaster and author Clare Balding recollections of her career and life experiences.
Hosted at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall, the black tie event’s gold sponsor was MAD-HR, the silver being sponsors Bouygues Energies and Services, Sanofi and Sizewell C and the bronze sponsors were Fleximize, Milsoms, Paraguard AV and West Suffolk College.
In her first live public appearance since the first national lockdown in March 2020, Clare spoke to her very appreciative audience for well over half an hour.
She recounted stories from her multifaceted career, including about the Olympics, her interviews with leading sportspeople and her various appearances on Celebrity Gogglebox.
She also spoke about the importance of team building, motivation and core beliefs in delivering successful outcomes whether in the media or in business more generally.
According to John Dugmore, Suffolk Chamber’s chief executive: “It was a great night, especially since this Prestige Dinner has been so anticipated for so long. Clare was a fantastic speaker and her stories and how she told them, totally engrossed the large audience before her.
“I think her stories of aiming high, planning carefully and coping with setbacks resonated with our audience, most of whom have probably experienced such highs and lows in business, especially over the last 18 months.”
Ami Birrell, events manager at Suffolk Chamber added: “Clare spent a lot of time working the room, chatting to guests and helping out with the prize raffle: all of which was very much appreciated by everybody present. Our Prestige Dinners, launched at the beginning of 2018, have proven to be the social highlight of the Suffolk business calendar. They offer a wonderful opportunity for our members to entertain their customers in first class locations and to hear at first hand from inspiring and well-known speakers.”
